Neutral Bay Community Centre, 190-192 Military Rd, Neutral Bay NSW 2089, Australia

About the Event

Let’s Talk is a free, confidential service offering mediation and support to older people and their families and aims to mitigate the risk of and respond early to elder abuse.  The Australian Institute for Family Studies research has suggested that social isolation and poor quality relationships are among the main risk factors associated with elder abuse in community settings.  Supporting older people and their families in strengthening relationships and increasing support systems provides protective factors for minimising the risk of elder abuse in the community.

Let’s Talk provides support for facilitating opportunities for older people and their families to have important and often difficult conversations around decision making, managing conflict, and providing support referral information.

Morning Tea will be served.  Please note this talk will be held upstairs at the Centre.
